What We’re About
Matt’s passion for guitars began over 15 years ago, and eventually led him to taking on an apprenticeship with Scott and John Baxendale of the old Colfax Guitar Shop. The Baxendales provided him with the skills and opportunity to perform everything from simple setups to building complete high end custom guitars from scratch. Working with over 8 years of professional luthier service and almost 20 years of woodworking knowledge, he specializes in custom built acoustic and electric guitars. With an eye for aesthetics and extensive knowledge of playability of guitars, Matt will work with you to select the woods, finishes, hardware and unique design attributes that will make your guitar perfect for you.

McGibney Custom Guitars specializes in custom acoustic and electric guitars. We work with you to select the materials and finishes that will create a custom guitar that meets your individual needs and style. We also do guitar restoration and repair.
Restoration & Repair
In addition to hand built instruments, we also offer a full range of repair and restoration of your classic, beloved instrument.
Maintenance & Setup
To play your best, your instrument needs to be kept in top notch shape. We understanding playability, as we play ourselves. We’ll keep your instruments tuned exactly so that it matches your playing style.
